Connecting via your new BNC has never been easier. Depending on your IRC Client, the settings in which you connect are a bit different. Select your client below to begin:

Colloquy
mIRC
Xchat Aqua (Mac)
Xchat (Windows)
Linkinus
IceChat
Chatzilla

Colloquy
Open a New Connection

Now hit the drop down menu button and fill in the following:

Nickname: yournickname
Server Protocol: IRC
Chat Server: bouncer.centravi.org
Port: port
Username: bncusername
Password: bncpassword
Realname: yourname



Done!

mIRC
Open scripts editor, click the remotes tab and insert the following line of code into it:

on *:START: {
server -m bouncer.centravi.org:port username:password
}



Now replace username and password with your BNC info that was provided to you.

Now, next time you open mIRC it will automatically connect and log you into your BNC!

Done!

Xchat Aqua (Mac Users)
Open Xchat and locate the “Server Settings” window




Now click the plus sign (+) to add a new connection



In the window that has now extended to the side, insert your information as follows:
Hostname: bouncer.centravi.org
Port: port
Check the “Use custom information” bubble
Nickname: nickname
Second Choice: alternativenick
Username: bncusername
Real Name: yourname



Note: Replace all italicized text with YOUR information.

Click the “Connect Options” tab at the top of the window
Under “Server Password” insert your bncpassword



Now click connect and you’re done!

Xchat (Windows Users)
First, open Xchat and find your Server Settings.



Click add and place a new name for the server such as “BNC” then select edit and a new window will pop up



Click edit on the server address and port section, and enter the BNC information provided to you.
bouncer.centravi.org/port
Now uncheck “Use global user information” -Note it is VERY important you do this.
Fill in your information:
Nick name: ircnick
Second choice: anothernick
Username: BNCUserName
Real name: yourname

Now navigate down to “Server Password” and place your BNC password there.




Done! Enjoy Xchat on your new FreeBNC!

Linkinus
Open Linkinus, and in the bottom, right hand corner, select the middle, “information” button
From here, add a new identity, and fill in the following:
Username: BNC username
Real name: Your name

Click the Ok button to proceed



Now click the “Connection” tab at the top, and select “New Connection”
Double Click “New Network”



Put BNC for the Network Name and push the plus sign
Now fill in the following:
Server address: bouncer.centravi.org
Port: port
Password: BNC Password


Now push ok, connect, and that’s it!

IceChat
Start up IceChat and in the top left click “Server Editor”
Replace the following information with what was provided to you

Server name: bouncer.centravi.org
Port: port
Nick name: yournick
**Ident name: BNC User Name** Note: This step is VERY important



Now in the same window, select the “Startup” option on the left
Under “Server Password” insert the BNC Password that was given to you



Click connect now, and you’re done!

Chatzilla
In FireFox, navigate to Tools –> Chatzilla
Type the following command into the chat window:

/server bouncer.centravi.org:port BNCusername:BNCpassword

Replace all italicized text with the correct information, then hit enter.



Once connected, go to “FireFox” in the top left corner, then select “Preferences.”
Click the BNC connection along the left treebar, then scroll down to “User Name” and replace “chatzilla” with your BNCusername then hit ok



Find “IRC” at the top and under the drop down menu select “Open This Network at Startup”



Now every time you open Chatzilla, you will be prompted for your BNC password, and that’s it!
